General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) Release 10.0.A PL2, OPNET Model Library 10.0 (24-Oct-2003) Release 10.0.A PL2 (Build 2315) OPNET Model Library 10.0 (24-Oct-2003) The General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) model captures the signaling and transmission behavior of a GPRS network. The model employs the following network components: Mobile Station (MS), Base Station (BTS), Base Station Controller (BSC), Serving GPRS Support Node (SGSN), Gateway GPRS Support Node (GGSN), Home Location Register (HLR), and a sink. Each Base Transmitter Station can support up to 15 Mobile Stations. This model supports 50 Mobile Stations. The Base Station Controller can support up to 6 Base Transmitter Stations. The following simplifications to the GPRS standards specifications were made: single active data session per MS, uni-directional user data transfer, and implementation of a single GGSN used for tunneling all MS user data.
