Requirements
Thesis:
Please ensure that you meet with Penny Simpson, Assistant for Theses, SFU
Library, before submitting your thesis to your thesis committee members.
As I always suggested in the past to all my graduate students,
please seek professional editorial help when writing your thesis.
Please do so well ahead of time so that substantial editorial changes
in your theses need not be made after your defense.
Projects:
I would like to remind you that in order to graduate and have your
final thesis approved, I request that you also complete software
projects related to your thesis and leave your computer files in order.
Please create a shared folder on "olive-share" that I can access.
The information is essential to me and your colleagues
who may decide to continue working on your project.
This involves:
-
depositing and completing software models that have been developed
in the course of your thesis (such as Opnet and ns-2 models);
-
writing a README file describing the file structure
and the location of your simulation results;
-
providing a MSWord or LaTEX files of your thesis and indicating
the location of the complete text and the associated figures;
-
providing figures in their original format, including
MATLAB files, S-PLUS files and scripts, used to create figures;
-
cleaning up your directories on Unix and PC machines.
Please note that this was done in the past
by all graduate students and postdocs in our Laboratory.
I will make no exceptions to this request.
Best wishes,
Ljiljana
