I am an assistant professor in the School of Engineering Science at Simon Fraser University. My research interests are computer vision, motion/trajectory tracking, object recognition and automatic 3D map generation. I am especially interested in the integration of vision modules in constructing robust systems with applications in robotics, science and medicine.

June 2010- Currently there are two research assistantships at the Ph.D. level for admission on Sep. 2010/January 2011.

Candidates with the following qualifications are encouraged to contact me for further information.

·         Strong academic background (a minimum GPA of A [85%]);

·         Great research interest and potential in image processing and machine vision;

·         Good programming skills (including C++ and Matlab [VRML is a plus]);

·         High interest in producing publishable results;

·         TOEFL IBT with an overall score of 88 or better with a minimum score of 20 in each of the four components (listening, speaking, writing, reading); or TOEFL PBT (Test of English as a Foreign language paper based test) with a minimum score of 570 including a minimum essay score of 5;

I receive a large number of emails from students interested in graduate studies. This makes it very difficult for me to reply to each one of these emails. You will be contacted only if you are qualified for the open positions.
