What you need to know for the exams:

A crib sheet will be provided with any formulae you need to solve the exam questions, though you will still need to recognise which formula is appropriate in a given situation and know how to apply it. The only equations which I expect you to memorise are:

• Definition of Young's modulus
• You should be able to figure out the atomic packing fraction for a given crystal structure
• Definitions of linear and planar densities
• Fick's First and Second Laws
• Should be able to derive the relationship between applied and resolved shear stress.
• Should know and be able to apply the tie-line rule and the lever rule
• Should be able to define the `Important Terms and Concepts' listed at the end of each chapter we've covered.

Final: the final exam will be on Saturday April 10 at 3:00 pm in WMC 3520.
